Zoffi Zorn (You can’t scare me anymore)

What remains of a person after their death? In some cases it‘s relief, even though this might sound cruel. The publication is part of the ongoing work „You can’t scare me anymore“, begun in 2024, that adresses the topics of domestic violence, anger, power and empowerment. In August 2024 a biological father died and Zoffi Zorn was born. Zoffi Zorn is a superheroine who fights against patriarchy and male violence. She wears a costume reminiscent of that of Lucha Libre (a form of wrestling), in which the custom of unmasking defeated opponents is common. Zoffi Zorn is still wearing her mask: she has won. The swan on the mask is a recurring motif in Sofia Baronner’s work. On the one hand, as a symbol of purity and light, it upholds Zoffi Zorn’s pure intentions. On the other hand, with reference to Zeus, who raped Leda in the form of a swan, it can be understood as a silent threat, like a hunting trophy.
